BLONDE + LONG HAIR COLOUR EDUCATOR

GLOBAL COLOURIST · REDKEN ADVOCATE · MR SMITH EDUCATOR

I’ve been doing hair for 20 years, and I started out learning every part of it — from perms and men’s cutting to colour and editorial styling. That broad technical foundation gave me a really solid understanding of hair before I ever started thinking about specialising.

Then I moved into the world of dip-dyes and creative colouring at Bleach London. It was a completely different way of looking at hair and colour, and it opened my eyes to just how creative and limitless the industry could be when you really pushed the boundaries.

From there I moved into Viva La Blonde, where the focus was much more specialised. Working in an environment dedicated to blondes showed me another side of the industry — the depth you can reach when you stop trying to be good at everything and really immerse yourself in one thing.

Those two experiences were a turning point for me. They showed me that specialising wasn’t about limiting what I could do; it was about discovering what I was actually really good at. And that’s where my love for blonde began.

For the last decade, I’ve specialised in blonde. I opened and ran my own salon Los Pastel for ten years, built a business around doing really good blonde hair, and recently sold it so I could focus more fully on the part of my career I’ve always loved just as much: education.

I’ve been educating stylists for around a decade, including nine years with Redken, becoming a Redken Advocate, and the last two years as part of the Mr. Smith educator team. I’ve taught everything from product knowledge and colour to technique and business, but the thing I’ve always been most interested in is helping people actually understand why they’re doing something.

Because that’s where I think a lot of hair education falls short.

I don’t want to give you a formula to memorise or tell you that something works because “that’s just what we do.” I want you to be able to look at a head of hair, understand what’s happening, make a decision and know exactly why you’ve made it.

That’s also why I started sharing my work and thought process online. I’ve always been the person who wants to explain things — probably more than people asked me to — and eventually I realised there were a lot of stylists who wanted someone to just make it make sense.

I take 20 years of experience, a broad technical foundation and a decade of specialising in blonde, and turn it into education that is practical, understandable and actually useful behind the chair.
